Qatalyst to present energy optimisation research at IEEE Quantum Week 2026

Research on robust battery energy storage siting under changing electricity-demand and network conditions.

Qatalyst will present its latest energy optimisation research at IEEE Quantum Week 2026, taking place in Toronto from 13–18 September.

The work examines a practical infrastructure-planning question:

Where should battery energy storage be located so that it continues to provide value as electricity demand and network conditions change?

Rather than evaluating storage locations against a single forecast, the research tests possible siting decisions across changing demand, weather and network conditions.

The approach is designed to identify locations that remain valuable across multiple possible futures, supporting more robust and defensible infrastructure-planning decisions.

The research contributes to the technical foundations of the SOLA decision tool, which helps organisations assess where energy infrastructure should be located under uncertain future conditions.
